Personal Computer Security:
Customers should take necessary precautions to protect their personal computers by installing and regularly updating antivirus software, enabling firewalls, and frequently changing passwords. It is strongly recommended not to perform financial transactions using public or internet cafe computers, as such environments may be prone to security vulnerabilities and potential data breaches.
SSL Certificate Awareness:
Customers should be aware of SSL or EV-SSL certificate warnings while accessing the bank's Internet Banking website. These warnings indicate potential security issues.
A valid and secure connection can be identified when the website address begins with
https://
and a padlock symbol appears in the browser's address bar.
When you click on the padlock symbol, it should display that the certificate is issued to the bank's official domain name.
If the browser shows a warning message such as
"Certificate not valid"
,
"Connection not secure"
, or
"Your connection is not private"
, customers should not proceed with login or transactions and should immediately close the browser window.
In such cases, customers are advised to report the issue to the bank immediately through official customer support channels.
Stop-Payment Instructions:
In the case of internet banking transactions, there is limited scope for the bank to act on stop-payment instructions. Therefore, customers are advised to ensure that all transaction details are entered correctly before confirming any payment.
